Before the arctic winter descends, our nature puts out a spectacular show with various colours.
For seeing Aurora Borealis, northern lights autumn is a very good season. Should you be lucky enough to see the lights by a lake, there is a good chance to see double lights, due to lake’s reflection!
Magic of Lapland in Saariselkä

Oulu – Saariselkä 3 nights – visit to Inari – National Park Urho Kekkonen – Oulu
1. day
OULU – saariselkä
The tour will start early in the morning and we are leaving from Oulu to Saariselkä. We have pick up points also in Rovaniemi if you want to start your tour there. Lunch is on the way in a local restaurant.
After Rovaniemi you will be speesless from the beautiful scenery, of lakes and rivers and magnificent colourful trees.
You will notice how the landscape changes when we drive further to the north, and there are less and less villages along the way. During the day you will hear many stories of Lapland and Finland in general.
On the way there are beautiful landscapes, where you can enjoy the view and take some pictures. Your hotel will situate next to National Park Urho Kekkonen. Enjoy of untouchable nature and clean air in this unforgettable place.
After check in you will have a delicious dinner.
2. DAY
visit to inari
After delicious breakfast you will have trip to Inari.
Today’s tour you will visit in the Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida’s outdoor museum which is a major attraction in Inari. You have an opportunity to peek to northern lives in the past and present. We will also see the most impressive building of Inari village, namely The Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos and you will learn about the building’s architecture and purpose. This is the home of the Sámi Parliament (Sámediggi) is the self-government body of the Sámi.
In the evening yoy will have Lake Inari Cruise which is an easy way to experience the biggest arctic wilderness lake in Northern Lapland. The lake cruise starts from the harbour by the Sámi Museum, SIIDA, and will take you to see the historical Ukko Island.
Lake Inari is the third largest lake in Finland and is home to over 3300 islands. The sacred Ukko Island (or Ukko’s Rock) was historically used as a Sámi sacrificial offering site right up until the 19th century. We will cruise around the island and admire the spectacular Ukko from a short distance.
The catamaran has 120 seats. On board you can buy coffee, tea, wine, beer and small snacks. After cruise we continue back to hotel.
Dinner in the evening.
3. day
Saariselkä- lemmenjoki- saariselkä
After the breakfast we will visit at Lemmenjoki. Golden Glitter of Lemmenjoki includes the whole program of River Boat Trip to Ravadas Falls and also a visit to Gollemaras gold claim after visiting the falls. We continues by boat, heading further into the National Park along the Lemmenjoki river canyon. Total distance to our destination is about 20 km. It is just a 600 m walk to the gold claim from the Lemmenjoki river bank. Our host will show us the secrets of gold panning and everybody can try their skills in gold mining. You can also visit at Kaija Paltto`s Felt Art Studio Ateljee Huopapirtti , exhipition and shop. Unique Felt Art textiles and accessories made of reindeer leather and felt are display and for sale.
After an exciting day we will return to Saariselkä.
4. day
Saariselkä – Oulu
After breakfast we will do lightly hihing trip to the National Park Urho Kekkonen.
In the afternoon we will continue back to Oulu.
